On 19th June 19, Shaoguan’s government upgraded the Early Warning Level of Wujiang District and Zhenjiang district from yellow to orange. At the same day, a highway maintainer found cracks in the slow lane of one highway during the patrol inspection, and immediately reported to the superior. On 20th June, it had a big settlement of that highway due to the collapse of the embankment retaining wall. The Highway Administration Bureau quickly coordinated with the relative departments and parties, to make geological survey of the subsidence parts. Here we share a project of applying AFIC array flexible inclinometer.This project is in a slope beside the highway in Guangdong Province. The hole‘s depth is 44m, and the rock layer is below 20m, soil layer is above 20m. AFIC flexible inclinometer was installed in 20th April, 2022. Its displacement value was stable at 300mm. From 3th June, it started to rain heavily, it keeps raining every day and never stop. The soil layer started to move. In recent 4 days, it moved 10cm every day. In order to ensure the accuracy of the data, the relevant departments used 3 manual inclinometers to measure the nearby holes. In this article we will introduce an application of ADM. Please see this picture first. It’s a slope mountain. Under the mountain there is a river. We have a high-speed rail go across the foot of mountain, along with the river. The government had used INSAR technology knew that this slope mountain may have the risk of landslide. But they don’t know which is the exactly direction of deformation, what is the speed of the deformation, and when will it be dangerous? If the landslide happens, it may block the river and lead some disaster. That means this slope mountain needs high accuracy deformation monitoring in depth. We get this project and use our ADME to monitor. (We totally installed 3 borehole devices, one 100m depth, two 50m depth. 100m depth has the longest time, so we use this as sample, the borehole number is CX3-5)  ...
