AFIC in Settlement Monitoring of Berth Rubble Base Construction
In 2021, berths of Beihai Port, China began the rubble base construction. It is proposed to build 2 general berths of 100000 tons and 3 general berths of 5000 tons for the wharf hydraulic engineering of the project. The project department shall carry out safety technical disclosure in strict accordance with the construction scheme, reasonably arrange ship machinery equipment, and adopt GPS automatic positioning system to accurately position the riprap ship to ensure the smooth progress of the project.

Settlement Monitoring of Foundation Bed
As the construction of the project continues, the settlement monitoring of foundation bed during berths construction has become more and more important. The settlement of foundation bed refers to the settlement of foundation surface caused by the compaction of foundation soil layer under the action of additional stress. Excessive settlement, especially uneven settlement, will cause buildings to incline and crack.
For the settlement monitoring of foundation bed, we formulated a corresponding monitoring scheme with our flexible inclinometer. After many discussions and evaluations on the actual situation, we carried out experiments in advance, and the results were satisfactory. After that we started the subsequent installation.

Huasi Array Flexible Inclinometer
Huasi Array Flexible Inclinometer is a flexible and standard 3D measurement system. The principle of array flexible inclinometer is to reflect the angle between the corresponding axis and the gravity direction by measuring the data of gravity acceleration in different axes through the accelerometer, and calculate the displacement of the corresponding length rod through the change of the angle.
It can be bent freely and can be installed in vertical, horizontal or Arc. It’s widely used in real-time monitoring projects such as slope sliding, tunnel convergence, road subgrade settlement, building construction,etc.

Monitoring Early Warning Cloud Platform
The data monitored by the flexible inclinometer is transferred to the Huasi monitoring early warning cloud platform through the 4G network. The monitoring early warning cloud platform has the functions of real-time acquisition of monitoring data, cloud integrated processing, diversified chart display, professional correlation analysis, disaster early warning alarm, report statistics and reporting. It can manage multiple projects and equipment at the same time and provide reliable, real-time and comprehensive information services.

Result analysis:
The settlement monitoring data of the flexible inclinometer is consistent with the field conditions. And the data can accurately reflect the settlement value of the foundation bed. The flexible inclinometer has good compression resistance and corrosion resistance under the harsh environment of the seaside.
