AFIC in Slop Displacement Monitoring of Bazhong Reservoir
Bazhong Reservoir in Sichuang Province, as one of China 172 national major water conservancy projects in water saving and water supply, has transferred from the construction stage to the operation stage from 21 June to 22 June, 2022. The reservoir comprehensively strengthens flood control and has become the first major water conservancy project in the upper reaches of the Qujiang River. It plays important roles on irrigation, flood control and water supply. The total estimated investment of the project is 3.189 billion RMB.
Slope Monitoring in Reservoir
During the construction of water conservancy projects, to ensure the safety and stability of buildings, it is necessary to excavate the mountains, which will form artificial slopes. After the slope is excavated, there will be relaxation tension crack, creep deformation, collapse, landslide and other phenomena. It takes a long time for the mountain to adapt to the changes of its internal force. In natural state, the slope is stable. Artificial cutting or blasting will destroy the internal stress structure of the mountain and redistribute the stress. As a potential unstable block, there is a possibility of instability. Slope cutting or support measures are required to meet the stability of the mountain. Therefore, slope monitoring is very necessary.

In addition, the rise and fall of the reservoir water level will have an impact on the corresponding slope. The water level in the reservoir area falls, and there are hidden dangers such as landslides and road collapses around the reservoir area. To ensure the life and property safety of the people along the reservoir, it is very necessary to monitor the slope of the reservoir. As an important means to master the slope dynamic information, ensure the construction safety, analyze the instability mechanism and carry out the slope safety early warning, nowadays slope safety monitoring has played a very important role in slope engineering.

Purpose of Slope Monitoring
The main purpose of slope monitoring is that using the slope monitoring information to study the development trend of slope deformation, predict the possible danger precursors, and assess the safety of the project. Slope stability has always been a difficult problem in water conservancy and hydropower projects. Slope monitoring provides an important basis for stability evaluation, design feedback, on-site construction guidance and safe operation.

Monitoring Device: Huasi Array Flexible Inclinometer
Huasi Array Flexible Inclinometer is a flexible and standard 3D measurement system. The principle of array flexible inclinometer is to reflect the angle between the corresponding axis and the gravity direction by measuring the data of gravity acceleration in different axes through the accelerometer, and calculate the displacement of the corresponding length rod through the change of the angle.
