Celebrate Dragon Boat Festival with GINTEC
The Dragon Boat Festival, also known as Duanwu Festival, is a traditional Chinese holiday celebrated on the 5th day of the 5th month of the lunar calendar. This year, the festival falls on June 22nd. GINTEC, a leading surveying and monitoring company, joins in the festivities by taking a break from June 22nd to June 24th.
With a history dating back over 2,000 years, the Dragon Boat Festival commemorates the renowned poet and statesman Qu Yuan. Qu Yuan was a loyal patriot who drowned himself in the Miluo River during the Warring States period. To prevent fish from eating his body, local people raced their boats to the spot where he entered the water, beating drums and throwing rice dumplings (zongzi) into the river as offerings.
This cultural heritage has given rise to the popular Dragon Boat Races, where teams paddle vigorously in long, narrow boats decorated like dragons. It is an exhilarating spectacle that attracts participants and spectators alike. Alongside the races, families indulge in traditional foods such as zongzi, sticky rice dumplings filled with various delicious ingredients, wrapped in bamboo leaves.
In the spirit of this joyous occasion, GINTEC embraces the essence of unity and harmony. Our team takes this opportunity to spend quality time with family and loved ones, reflecting upon our rich cultural traditions and rejuvenating for the second half of the year.
During this festive period, our offices will be closed from June 22nd to June 24th. We will resume normal business operations on June 25th. For any urgent matters, please feel free to leave us a message, and we will respond promptly upon our return.
GINTEC wishes everyone a delightful Dragon Boat Festival filled with happiness, good health, and prosperity. May this festive occasion bind us together in unity and inspire us to achieve greater heights in our personal and professional lives.
